Marks Sattin Ireland were engaged by HR to assist with a Senior hire into this tax team, as the providers on their existing PSL had been unable to source the right candidate.
From the initial specification and briefing we developed and submitted a shortlist within 48 hours. The first round interviews were conducted within a week followed by second stage within 72 hours. Leading to a successful placement of one of the short listed candidates the following month. We have since developed strong relationships with the various heads of business units and have made further placements with the group.
Head of Tax (Business Unit)
Through a relationship with the Global Head of Tax Marks Sattin Ireland were notified of an assignment to find a Head of Tax. After a specific briefing meeting in Dublin we undertook the international search for the right candidate and were able to short list 2 strong candidates for the client.
Both candidates were initially interviewed in the United States. The client eventually chose to bring one candidate to Ireland to interview with the 3 business unit heads that would make the final decision on the appointment. After a further interview in the US we were able to negotiate an agreeable compensation package and the successful candidate re-located to Ireland.
VAT Project Manager (Insurance Firm)
This FTSE 250 client required an interim VAT manager to overhaul their current systems and processes to come into line with recent changes in legislation and start within 3 days. The calibre of candidate had to be high due to the importance of the role and the level of expertise needed due to the complexity of the project.
As a specialist recruiter we quickly understood the change in legislation, the skill set required and the type of candidate needed for this type of assignment. A short list of 3 immediately available candidate were drawn up that had extensive knowledge of VAT and project management. After 3 interviews the right candidate was selected and subsequently completed a crucial project for the company.
Assistant Tax Director (Global Bank)
A world leading banking organisation approached the Tax Division at Marks Sattin for the recruitment of an Assistant Tax Director – a senior position at Group level. The role required extensive market knowledge and because of the limited candidate pool in this area our network was crucial to a successful hire.
Working in a headhunt capacity we contacted a number of high profile candidates, making sure the candidate were met and briefed on the role, a small number of strong candidates we submitted. A long interview process entailed, but an exceptional candidate was successfully placed with the Bank.
