A luxury retailer is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Director to support the international growth of the business. This prestigious brand has developed a wealth of heritage over the last century, providing high quality luxury products across Europe and beyond.

As one of the executive Board members, the role of Finance Director encompasses responsibility for all aspects of accounting, reporting, financial management, credit control, cash and foreign exchange management, IT, para-legal and commercial matters.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Working with the Board to formulate strategies for growing the business.
  • General direction and management of Finance and IT departments.
  • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including annual audit and relationship with auditors.
  • Responsible for all banking relationships and related facilities.
  • Responsible for foreign exchange strategy, hedging and management Leading and managing the budgeting and re-forecasting processes.
  • All aspects of tax planning and compliance for global businesses.
  • All aspects of insurance and risk management.
  • All aspects of financial reporting including design of reports and interpretation of information provided.
  • Contract negotiation, preparation and approval.
  • Design of commercial financial policies and controls, to include - credit limits, payment terms, settlement discount, stock returns, RRP and trade pricing, range sizes.
  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
  • Company Secretarial responsibilities.

You will be a fully qualified accountant, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience of systems, structures and reporting requirements of large multi-national companies as well as first hand knowledge of the hands-on challenges of small, entrepreneurial businesses. Thorough understanding and experience of foreign exchange management including forward contracts, swaps and multi-currency consolidations is highly desirable.
