Start your job searchA big brand Retail business in the heart of Manchester City centre is looking for an ambitious and driven Assistant Accountant to progress their career with an industry leading finance team. This is the perfect opportunity to get a huge name on your CV and develop your skills. Reporting into a Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for covering aspects of accounting, reporting, forecasting and analysis of the company's financial data.
You will be responsible for:
- Accurate and timely accounting of all transactions
- Assisting in the production of high quality management and financial information
- Accruals and prepayments process, including monthly analysis
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring that differences are understood and promptly corrected
- Liaising with and challenging key stakeholders
- Working with and proactively supporting the non-Finance functions to add real insight and value to the business and commercial decision making
- Contributing to the budget and forecast processes to agreed timelines
- VAT accounting and reporting requirements
- Assisting in the statutory accounts and audit processes
- Providing ad hoc support to the Head of Department, Finance Director and wider business as required
The successful candidate will be strong academically, will have begun or is looking to start studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (i.e CIMA/ACCA/ACA). You must be also be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have a good understanding of the General Ledger and be able to work as a team as well as independently.
